The original picnic service in Paris! Established in 2019, Picnic Like a Parisian was inspired by the appreciation for the incredible things Paris has to offer: quality food & wine, and stunning views.

The French have mastered the art of savoring the good things in life. The quality of the food and wine in France, along with the concept of taking time to really enjoy life has left a lasting impression since moving to Paris in 2015. As an American, you better believe I was blown away in all of the best ways.

It quickly became my passion to live the Parisian lifestyle and picnic whenever possible. There’s something special about sipping on French wine while looking up at the Eiffel Tower. It just hits different!

Picnicking with Picnic Like a Parisian is so much more than just good catering or some cute decorations. It’s the full embodiment of what it is to experience a carefree and special moment in Paris. 

Let me show you just how picnics in Paris are so magical. Whether it’s your first time tasting the flavors France has to offer,  getting that gorgeous content for Instagram, or creating special memories with the people you love, this is a once in a lifetime experience. 

About your host

Hi! My name is Tamara, but my reputation as a picnic queen and foodie proceed me. I am an American that moved to Paris in 2015 after falling in love with this city during a study abroad stint in 2012. I’ve since been sharing my passions and discoveries around Paris.

Picnics are my love language, and anyone who has had a picnic with me, or by me, can attest to the amount of love that goes into them. Since launching my picnics as a service in 2019, I have been paving the way for the picnic scene in Paris, and find a lot of purpose in bringing the best parts of Paris to visitors. 

In addition to organizing dream picnics, I offer custom food tours, share restaurants and hidden gems on my blog, cook & host dinner parties, photograph (all of the images of my picnics are taken by me!), run a women’s community, and do food styling. I see the beauty in everything, especially in food.

How it started

After experiencing a burnout while working 3 jobs in New York City, I moved to Paris to be a nanny for a French family. That transition came with a wave of free time. My go-to was grabbing a bottle of wine and some snacks and picnicking in front of a scenic location. I invited friends with me as often as I could. This became such a common occurrence that I began receiving wicker baskets as birthday presents. Naturally, I began using the baskets to make my picnics for me and my friends cuter and a bit more elaborate. 

In the spring of 2019, my best friend and her boyfriend came to visit me in Paris. We stumbled into a cheese shop and after tasting a few of them, we decided to have a picnic the next day. I did as I usually would, bringing the wicker basket, picking up some flowers, and arranging our delicacies on a platter. When my friends arrived, they were surprised to  discover what my version of a picnic looked like.

It was then that my bestie said, “you need to do this for people in Paris!”

Needless to say, I took her advice and launched Picnic Like a Parisian on Airbnb Experiences just a few weeks later.
